Live 3D Broadcast of Surgical Demonstration… MOU Signed with Nong Lam University 3D MediVision, a company specializing in 3D medical imaging (CEO Kijin Kim), in collaboration with Professor Heon-Young Yoon from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Konkuk University and Vietnamese medical device company Sistar Vietnam, successfully held a live veterinary workshop on Wednesday, the 14th, at Nong Lam University in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The theme of the workshop was Thoracotomy and Lung Lobectomy, and it attracted more than 100 Vietnamese veterinarians. The morning session featured a theoretical lecture by Professor Yoon, followed by a live surgical demonstration on an actual patient case in the afternoon. Notably, the surgical procedure was broadcast in real-time using 3D MediVision’s high-resolution 3D live video system. This allowed participants to observe the complex anatomical structures, the movements of surgical instruments, and tissue responses in a more immersive and detailed manner. Professor Yoon stated, “Traditional theory-based 2D lectures have limitations in conveying structural and procedural understanding. However, by incorporating 3D surgical video, participants can gain a far more intuitive grasp of anatomical structures and surgical processes.” Participants responded positively to the experience. One attendee remarked, “It’s rare to have access to this level of advanced education in Vietnam. It was incredibly valuable to attend a veterinary lecture of such global caliber.” Another added, “Being able to vividly watch surgery scenes in 3D—which are usually hard to observe—and ask questions during the Q&A session greatly enhanced the learning experience.” A representative from 3D MediVision commented, “Veterinarians who attended the workshop will be able to rewatch and review the surgical demonstration through the Veterflix platform. This contributed to a higher level of satisfaction among the Vietnamese veterinarians.” Meanwhile, 3D MediVision signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Professor Le Quang Thong (center in photo), Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Nong Lam University, on the occasion of this workshop. Dr. Thong plans to actively integrate VET-TV, a veterinary education platform already used by several universities in Korea and abroad, into his school’s curriculum over the next year. VET-TV is currently utilized by eight veterinary colleges and over twenty companion animal health departments in Korea, with Nong Lam University becoming the second overseas institution to adopt the platform, following a university in the United States. Kijin Kim, CEO of 3D MediVision, stated, “We will continue to bring high-quality veterinary education to Vietnam in partnership with Sistar Vietnam, and we are committed to expanding access to veterinary training wherever it is needed—ultimately promoting the excellence of Korean veterinary education to the world.” |
