Veterflix announced on June 2 (Tuesday) that it had successfully held the first session of the ‘3D-viewed orthopedic and neurosurgery case seminar’. This seminar, conducted by Professor Kang Byung-jae (Small Animal Orthopedic and Neurosurgery) at Seoul National University’s Veterinary School, covers 12 types of orthopedic and neurosurgery surgeries commonly encountered at local veterinary hospitals. In particular, it is an advantage to be able to see theoretical lectures and surgical demonstrations about frequent orthopedic surgeries such as medial patellar dislocation repair, anterior cruciate ligament insulation surgery such as TPLO and TWO, and surgical demonstrations vividly through 3D TV. In the first seminar held on this day, a class on FHNO was held. After the theory class of Professor Kang Byung-jae, we all watched the surgery video using a 3D TV. Participants were able to check even the smallest affected areas through the surgical image performed by Professor Kang himself. After that, lectures and Q&A on postoperative treatment followed. Veterflix said, “Due to the nature of orthopedic and neurosurgery, it is inevitable to use a large amount of cadavers for education. Recently, ethical and economic problems of animal practice are being mentioned a lot. It will be able to bring about a new paradigm in orthopedic and neurosurgery education.” One participant said, “Professor Byeong-jae Kang’s theory class was of course good, but it was also possible to see the details of the affected area that are difficult to see through 3D TV. It was nice to be able to see it three-dimensionally and vividly. It seems to have helped a lot more.” The second seminar will be held on June 16 (Tuesday) at 7 PM.
